Columbia Rail, which operates 166 miles of short line railroads in Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon, has chosen TekTracking LLC’s Track Inspection Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (TIMPS) platform to digitize and streamline infrastructure inspections across its network. This deployment will support operations on Columbia Rail’s Rainier, Columbia-Walla-Walla, Yak Rail, Port of Benton, Port of Royal Slope, and Kennewick properties.
TekTracking will equip field personnel with “robust” mobile applications that enable real-time data capture for track and signal inspection and testing. The TIMPS platform “will modernize Columbia Rail’s inspection and reporting processes, enhancing operational efficiency and regulatory compliance,” the company said. “This partnership reinforces TekTracking’s mission to offer targeted, discipline-specific tools to the rail industry.”
“Our team continues to invest heavily in the evolution of TIMPS and our broader suite of mobile applications,” said Greg Fogarty, CEO of TekTracking. “TIMPS will empower Columbia Rail’s track and signal teams to fully digitize their inspection workflows and automate reporting, ultimately driving safer and more efficient operations. We are excited to support Columbia Rail in their mission to elevate their maintenance practices through smart technology.”
Richard Green, General Manager of Rainier Rail, added, “We’re thrilled to partner with TekTracking as we take the next step in modernizing our inspection and maintenance operations. After an extensive evaluation of available solutions, TIMPS stood out due to its flexibility, intuitive design and focus on rail-specific needs. At Columbia Rail, we are always seeking innovative tools to enhance safety and performance—TIMPS delivers exactly that.”
“Unlike generalized asset management platforms, TekTracking’s suite includes TIMPS, built specifically for track inspection teams; SITE, focused on signal maintenance and testing; and ReVAMP, the latest solution tailored for locomotive and powered vehicle inspections,” the company noted, “With these applications, TekTracking is empowering rail professionals with purpose-built tools that return control and clarity to critical maintenance workflows.”
