Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) Executive Director and CEO Lori Kahikina, P.E., has been awarded the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) Gold Coin of Excellence.
The award was presented to Kahikina by CMCI Board of Governors CMCI Chair Harrison Staley, C.C.M. at the recent Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Construction Management Industry Honors Conference in San Francisco. Kahikina is only the second person to receive the Gold Coin, CMCI’s highest award.
CMAA’s award program “recognizes excellence in construction management practices and honors companies and individuals each year based on merit,” the organization said. “The Coin of Excellence award specifically recognizes an exceptional individual who embodies the highest standards of professionalism and supports a culture of certification within the construction management industry.”
“We are delighted to recognize Lori Kahikina for her outstanding professionalism and diligence in promoting the CMAA credentials among her staff and consultants,” said CMAA President and CEO Andrea S. Rutledge, C.A.E. “CMCI recognizes that credentialed professionals are a high-demand commodity for all owners, but especially so in Hawaii, where staffing can be even more challenging. Ms. Kahikina’s commitment benefits the profession, owners, service providers, and the public who rely on construction managers to help deliver capital projects safely, on time, and on budget.”
CMAA notes it “is dedicated to improving the nation’s infrastructure by advancing professional construction and program management worldwide. Its membership consists of public and private organizations, owners and practitioners. CMAA provides professional development, certification, advocacy and business opportunities to its members and the entire construction management industry.”
