STV
STV announced Nov. 11 the opening of its new 18,000-square-foot office at The Line in Charlotte, N.C. Located in the heart of Charlotte’s South End, the new space is adjacent to the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Blue Line and “strategically places STV close to its local clients and industry partners,” according to the firm.
STV’s continued expansion in the Carolinas, the company say, “highlights its commitment to delivering the critical infrastructure needed to connect and improve this rapidly growing region.” STV has played a leading role in bringing light rail to Charlotte, contributing to the initial segment of the Blue Line and serving as lead designer on the Blue Line Extension. The firm is actively engaged in key local projects, including work for CATS, the City of Charlotte and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).
Modeled after STV’s new corporate headquarters at the Empire State Building, the new Charlotte office is part of the firm’s broader Strategic Plan to “reimagine its operations and invest in a world-class employee experience.” The office, STV says, “embraces an Activity-Based Working (ABW) concept” featuring a variety of workspaces tailored to different tasks. This flexible design, the company adds, “promotes collaboration and engagement among team members, clients and partners, while cutting-edge technology and abundant natural light create an environment that fosters innovation and employee well-being.”
“We are thrilled to move into the vibrant South End district with a modern office that will facilitate more collaboration and allow us to deliver more value and high-quality work to our clients,” said Claire Brinkley, PE, AICP, Vice President and Charlotte Area Manager at STV. “Our team will have easier access to the transit we helped bring to life, as we continue to support the infrastructure needs of the Carolinas.”
STV has six local offices across the Carolinas—including Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Morrisville, Rock Hill, Columbia and North Charleston—and more than 60 locations across North America. Since 1961, STV has provided a range of professional services for infrastructure projects throughout the Charlotte metropolitan area. The firm has contributed to major transit and highway projects such as the CATS Electric Vehicle Transition Plan, NCDOT Military Cutoff Road Extension, I-485/I-85 Turbine Interchange Design-Build and I-85 over the Yadkin River.
Savage
Savage on Nov. 11 announced that it has earned the 2025 Silver Military Friendly® Employer designation, marking the seventh consecutive year the supply chain infrastructure and solutions provider has been recognized as a Military Friendly® Employer for its “commitment to recruiting, retaining and advancing veterans.”
Military Friendly® is the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for the military community. More than 2,800 organizations compete annually for Military Friendly® designation.
“Our Savage Patriots are vitally important members of our team. These men and women provide unique skills and experience that have helped us to grow and thrive,” said Savage CEO Kirk Aubry. “We honor and applaud the sacrifice of all service members, and their families, and we’re actively working to recruit those who are transitioning out of the military. We’re proud that almost ten percent of Savage team members are military veterans, National Guard members or military spouses.”
Savage says it is deeply committed to supporting veterans through various initiatives and programs such as its Uniformed Services Time Off (USTO) policy, which offers National Guard members and Reservists 10 additional days of paid time off to attend required trainings, and Uniformed Services Differential Pay (USDP), which helps to bridge the gap between their active duty pay and salary if deployed. Savage also provides financial support to veterans organizations, including the Utah Veterans Alliance, and participates in events such as Wreaths Across America to honor and remember veterans.
“We salute these exemplary employers who raise the bar and understand that hiring military personnel is not merely an act of goodwill but a testament to a standard that truly embodies sound business wisdom,” said Kayla Lopez, VP of Partnerships at Military Friendly®. “Their steadfast commitment to integrating military personnel into their workforce not only reflects their compassion but also underscores their business acumen.”
The 22nd annual list of Military Friendly® Employers has been released on MilitaryFriendly.com and will be published in the December issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine. For more information about career opportunities for veterans at Savage, visit savageco.com/careers/veterans.
