Port Bienville Industrial Park Completes New Warehouse, Welcomes New Tenant
These developments “represent a significant milestone for Port Bienville, positioning it for future growth and additional capacity to support existing industries,” according to the Commission.
Warehouse 3 is a newly constructed 30,000-square-foot warehouse, funded by a $2 million grant from the Mississippi Development Authority Port Improvement Grant in 2023, which will relocate an existing tenant providing warehouse services for existing industry. This expansion, the Commission says, “will enhance the port’s ability to meet the growing demands of its tenants and the region’s logistics industry.”
“Warehouse 3 is Hancock Port & Harbor’s newest publicly owned facility in Port Bienville in nearly20 years,” said Executive Director and CEO Blaine LaFontaine. “The new facility will allow us to capture opportunities in the region and help existing tenants with supply chain reliability, reduced warehousing, and transportation costs.”
Port Bienville’s newest tenant, Salacia Logistics & Holdings LLC, a logistics solutions provider specializing in the transport, storage, processing, packaging of dry bulk materials, will occupy the 36,047-square-foot Warehouse 1, a 36,047-square-foot facility. With expertise in ocean, river, road, and rail transportation, Salacia is well-equipped to handle a wide range of logistics needs and material types, the Commission noted.
As a supplier of high-quality salt products, Salacia offers various options, including de-icing salt, water treatment salt, energy field salt, and agricultural salt. The company provides flexible packaging options ranging from small bags to super sacks and bulk quantities.
Salacia’s presence at Port Bienville, the Commission says, “will further enhance the industrial park’s capabilities and support the operations of the existing tenant, Alpek Polyester.”
According to the Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission, the completion of Warehouse 3 and the addition of Salacia Logistics & Holdings at Port Bienville “represent a strategic step forward in expanding operations and fostering economic growth in the region. By attracting new businesses and supporting those already established, the port is creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and enhancing Mississippi’s role as a key hub for transportation and logistics.”
