TTC
TTC Chair Jamaal Myers recently announced that current Deputy CEO Bruce Macgregor will be promoted to acting CEO, effective at the end of the business day on Aug. 30, according to multiple news reports.
Macgregor replaces departing CEO Rick Leary, who is resigning after six and a half years leading the Ontario, Canada, agency that has grown since 1921 to carry more than 31 billion riders through a network of subways, streetcars, buses and Wheel-Trans vehicles.
“I want to thank Bruce for helping guide the Commission while we finalize the appointment of an interim CEO,” said Myers in a statement, according to a CBC News report.
According to the report, Myers also said that the search for an interim CEO is “nearly complete,” with a permanent replacement “expected in the coming months.”
Leary first announced his resignation on June 20, “after a last-minute deal averted a city-wide strike by transit operators,” according to a Global News report, and “amid allegations of bullying and workplace misconduct,” according to the CBC News report.
