Jason Pettway, NS’s Assistant Vice President Workplace Experience, was named to the Atlanta Business League’s 2024 Men of Influence list and honored during an award ceremony last week, the Class I recently reported.

This award, NS says, features 13 metro Atlanta leaders who have “reached senior levels within their profession, are leading entrepreneurs in their industry, have accomplished history-making feats or have achieved broad levels of influence in politics and government.”

Over the last 30 years, Pettway has served in a variety of progressively responsible leadership roles across the organization. Among his recent roles at NS, he served as the Chief of Staff to the CEO where he advised him and the leadership team. Today, as AVP Workplace Experience, Pettway helps drive the Class I’s strategy by “collaborating with leadership to design and implement best practices that positively impact all employees” across NS’s 22-state network.

According to NS, Pettway is “passionate about breaking down barriers, bringing people together and helping others find their purpose.” For years, he has provided executive support to several of the Class I’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). In addition, Pettway supports and advises NS’s executive leadership on topics such as DE&I, employee engagement, and more.

“Jason is a critical figure in the success story of many careers at Norfolk Southern,” said PC Bryant, AVP Human Resources. “His honest feedback, generosity with his time, and commitment to helping others make him truly deserving of this recognition.”

Pettway is actively helping to build a better Atlanta by volunteering his time and talents to support several community organizations. He is involved at his church in Stone Mountain, Ga., and supports the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence. Pettway sits on multiple boards, including the NS Good Government Fund, the Urban League of Atlanta, and Kate’s Club, an organization that supports children who have lost a parent.
