At infrastructure firm HNTB, Dennis Stefanski will oversee a multi-discipline group of professionals and support various transit and rail clients through project management, intra-disciplinary coordination and structural engineering design work.

With more than 19 years of experience, he has led major capital construction; capital planning; state of good repair assessment; and railroad infrastructure, facility and bridge rehabilitation projects.

Stefanski spent the past 10-plus years at Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, where he played a key role in the Interlocking and Resiliency programs and helped secured the site for the agency’s new Heavy Maintenance Facility as part of its Trolley Modernization Program. He also led the Civil Engineering Department, managing civil design, track outages, right-of-entry, and coordination with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Stefanski earned both his master’s degree in structural engineering and bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Villanova University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dennis to our dynamic Philadelphia team,” said Jeremy Colello, HNTB’s Pennsylvania Office Leader and Vice President. “His extensive background in managing multifaceted transit and rail projects will be instrumental in further elevating the quality and scope of our engineering services for our clients and the community.”

Separately, SunRail commuter service to the new DeLand Station in Volusia County, Fla., started last month. HNTB provided preliminary design and construction engineering inspection services for the project.
