GATX Corporation appoints Christopher LaHurd to Senior Vice President, International. Also, Christine Kefauver joins HNTB as Project Director.

GATX on Aug. 15 announced that Christopher LaHurd has been appointed as Senior Vice President, International, effective immediately.

In this role, LaHurd will “focus on developing and implementing strategic and operational initiatives that position GATX to fully capitalize on the attractive growth opportunities in the European rail market,” according to GATX, a global lessor of transportation assets.

 LaHurd joined GATX Corporation in 2008 and has served in a number of finance and business development roles over the years. Most recently, he was Vice President, International Business Development. LaHurd received his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from The University of Akron and his Masters of Business Administration from The University of Michigan.

“I am pleased to announce Chris’ promotion,” said GATX President and CEO Robert C. Lyons. “Chris has a proven track record managing various aspects of our international businesses during his tenure at GATX. With his extensive knowledge of the Company and wide-ranging experience with our global operations, Chris is well-suited for this important role.”

“Under the direction of Johann Feindert, CEO of GATX Rail Europe, we have built a leading railcar leasing and maintenance platform across Europe, with a fleet approaching 30,000 wagons,” LaHurd added. “Chris will work with Johann and the GATX Rail Europe team to ensure that they continue driving this positive momentum.”

HNTB

HNTB announced Aug. 13 that Christine Kefauver has joined as a Project Director and Vice President in the firm’s Lake Mary, Fla., office, bringing 30 years of transportation knowledge and experience.

In her new role at HNTB, Kefauver will be “instrumental in serving the firm’s municipal markets in Florida and bringing the range of services HNTB provides to clients across the state,” according to the firm. Prior to joining HNTB, Kefauver served as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Brightline, based in Central Florida, where she assisted in the development of the company’s statewide rail vision with an emphasis on the expansion to Orlando and ultimately to Tampa.

“We are delighted to welcome Christine to our team in Lake Mary. Her knowledge of the transportation landscape in Florida, paired with her professional commitment will further complement our team,” said George Gilhooley, HNTB’s East Florida Office Leader and Senior Vice President. “Christine’s extensive experience in the public and private sectors will continue to enhance the services we provide and how we serve our clients.”

Kefauver received a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from the University of Maryland and Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.
