Railroad Development Corp. (RDC) has promoted Ida Posner to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of RDC and appointed Nate Asplund, President of Pop-Up Metro, to lead the integration of the newly formed RDC/TDI joint venture.
Posner joined RDC in 2017 and has served as VP, Strategic Planning, since 2020. She serves as a Director of the Iowa Interstate Railroad (Railway Age’s 2025 Regional of the Year), Eurorail, RDC-Deutschland, and RailPulse. In her new role as COO, she will be responsible for managing RDC’s internal operationsnwhile continuing to lead strategy and business development.

Asplund, President of Pop-Up Metro (PUM), transitions to a full-time role to support the newly formed joint venture with Transport Design International (TDI) “to expand and service growing rail mobility markets on both sides of the Atlantic,” the company said.
“In a pivotal year for Pop-Up Metro, we are focusing Nate’s expertise and industry connections on the successful merger and integration of the two companies,” said RDC Chairman Henry Posner III. “Working alongside our partners in the U.K., we are confident in Nate’s ability to jump-start several near-term commercial opportunities. Pop-Up Metro developments will be presented at the 2025 Railway Age/RT&S Light Rail Conference in Pittsburgh, Oct. 1-2.
