Eco-Energy Commences Operations at Iowa-Based Renewable Feedstock Distribution Facility
The facility, Eco-Energy says, will provide Marathon Petroleum Company the ability to aggregate renewable feedstocks (e.g., distillers corn oil, soybean oil, animal fats and used cooking oil) from throughout Iowa for outbound distribution to the rapidly growing renewable diesel space. The Newton site is equipped with 32 tank car offload spots, 1.2 million gallons of dedicated feedstock storage, and high-speed truck offloading and rail loading capability. The facility will be accessible by the Iowa Interstate Railroad (IAISRR), “ensuring outbound product can be directly distributed by all North American Class I railroads,” the renewable supply chain company noted.
“We are excited to have completed this renewable feedstock project and look forward to being an active member of the Newton community. This project again highlights our team’s ability to collaborate, align incentives, and generate clear value-add throughout the supply chain,” said Eco-Energy COO Chadwick Conn.
