OmniTRAX on May 28 reported that it is the exclusive operator of Port Muskogee’s Port Muskogee Railroad (PMR) in Oklahoma. Under a signed Railroad Facilities Operating Agreement with the Port, PMR becomes the 30th railroad in the OmniTRAX network and the company’s fifth U.S. port partnership.
“This strategic partnership will enhance rail service, support industrial growth, and expand multimodal access for existing and future industry in Muskogee,” according to OmniTRAX, the transportation and infrastructure affiliate of The Broe Group, a Colorado-based investment and development firm.
Located on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, with Foreign Trade Zone status and year-round navigable access to the Gulf of America, the Fort Gibson, Okla.-based Port connects global markets to inland America. “Muskogee offers unmatched access to the 4Rs—Rail, Road, River, and Runway—making it the only micropolitan community in Oklahoma with all four modes of freight transportation,” OmniTRAX reported. “With more than 1,000 acres of developable industrial land and a diverse industrial base—including advanced manufacturing, energy technology, construction materials, and food processing—Muskogee is uniquely positioned for long-term growth.” Additionally, it said, Muskogee has announced more than $4.1 billion in new capital projects over the past 18 months; statewide, Oklahoma’s ports generate more than $500 million in annual economic impact and support more than 5,000 jobs.
“OmniTRAX brings the expertise, experience and national reach that align with our vision for growth,” Port Muskogee Executive Director Kimbra Scott said. “With a strong U.S. rail network, close relationships with Class I railroads, and a dedicated team focused on Muskogee, this partnership enables better service, smarter freight solutions, and new opportunities for industrial expansion.”
“OmniTRAX is excited to expand our Oklahoma rail service to now include Port Muskogee,” OmniTRAX Co-CEO Dean Piacente said. “We are proud to bring our best-in-class rail service and safety to Muskogee, and we look forward to being an active community partner.”
