TIMPS (Track Inspection, Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling Software) augments a railroad’s current track and roadbed inspection process, providing “digitized inspection and maintenance reports to support failure trend analysis analytics,” according to Fairport, N.Y.-based TekTracking, which describes itself as “an asset management technology provider servicing passenger and freight rail operators throughout North America.” The software also “adds to the efficiency, worker safety and accuracy of track maintenance, while ensuring all inspections occur per the frequency prescribed by the railroad and FRA Part 213 requirements.”

“We are very pleased to be selected to provide NOPB with our state-of-the-art mobile track inspection platform,” said TekTracking CEO Gregory Fogarty, who noted that TIMPS will modernize the short line railroad’s inspection process.
In related developments, Ontario Northland in December signed on with TekTracking to implement TIMPS.
