Joining BNSF and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) in expressing their concerns about the proposed Union Pacific (UP)-Norfolk Southern (NS) merger, CN recently launched a page on its website encouraging its customers to speak up and file a Notice of Intent to Participate with the Surface Transportation Board (STB).
“UP and NS have announced their intent to merge and will submit their full application to the STB this fall. This transaction could have far-reaching implications for rail competition, supply chains, and service reliability in North America. CN will be actively participating in the STB review of this proposed merger,” the Class I states on the webpage.
“The STB allows customers and stakeholders like you to formally participate in the review. By filing a notice of intent to participate, you secure your right to be part of the record, voice your concerns, and help shape the conditions imposed on this merger,” continues CN on the webpage, which also provides Notice of Intent templates, as well as a FAQ section.
