UP
UP’s machinists and electrician at its locomotive shop in Oakland, Calif., embody the “Courage to Care pledge—together, they all go home safe,” the Class I railroad reported via social media on May 29. This has led to a milestone achievement and celebration: 26 years of injury-free service.
“It’s a tightknit group,” said UP Senior Manager Dave Victores, according to UP. “They actively care and look out for each other. This commitment prompts strong communication and a proactive attitude toward safety,” Victores said. “They are always looking to improve.”
