NS recently announced via an X post that the newest fully electric crane, the Freerider 7, has joined the Class I’s fleet at its Austell Intermodal Terminal in Georgia.
Standing at 116 feet wide and 86 feet tall, Freerider 7 will be fully operational by February 2025, adding the capacity NS needs to support growth in the Atlanta market.
With seven fully electric cranes now powering its stacked operations, NS says it is “improving fluidity, boosting efficiency, and eliminating carbon emissions—all while enhancing safety every step of the way.”
