CSX has the 82nd running of its Santa Train through Appalachia. Also, Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) celebrates the grand opening of Fastfrate Group’s new facility in Rosser, Manitoba; and Union Pacific’s (UP) Response Management Communication Center (RMCC) and Police Department achieve the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) certification for the tenth consecutive year.

CSX

CSX on Nov. 30 had the 82nd running of its Santa Train through Appalachia. Starting at 5:30 a.m. in Shelby, Ky., and ending at 3 p.m. in Kingsport, Tenn., CSX gave away more than 15 tons of gifts at 13 stops to children of all ages.

“There are many blessings that come with working for CSX, and the CSX Santa Train is simply one of the best,” said President and CEO Joe Hinrichs in a LinkedIn post. “I always come away exhausted and proud, with a heart filled with joy as we put so many smiles on kids’ and adults’ faces. Not sure who gets more from the CSX Santa Train – those who receive the gifts or those who give them out. I think it is the latter.

“One of the photos below is me talking to a woman who has been to every running of the CSX Santa Train starting in 1943. The lady holding the pillowcase thanking us has been to the last 43 straight. This CSX Santa Train is the most anticipated event every year in these communities. Our engineer running the Clinchfield Heritage Unit #1902 retired after leading the train all day—this was his last ride with CSX (photo below).

“Thanks to everyone who helped make this another wonderful event. So proud of our ONE CSX team and the work we do to support so many charity organizations,” Hinrichs concluded.

CPKC

CPKC via a LinkedIn post recently congratulated Fastfrate Group on the opening of its new state-of-the-art facility in Rosser, Manitoba, enhancing logistics in Manitoba and Western Canada.

The 114,000 square-foot facility brings together Fastfrate, ASL Distribution Services Limited and Precision Parcel & Package Deliveries under one roof, enabling the company to offer a full range of services, including intermodal LTL and FTL, Intra-West Trucking, warehousing, distribution, and final mile parcel deliveries.

“With 56 dock doors, advanced cross-docking, and a strategic location near key transportation routes, we’re ready to handle domestic and cross-border shipments, expand our services, and meet growing demand across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico,” Fastfrate said in a LinkedIn post.

“We’re proud to support our customers with end-to-end supply chain solutions and look forward to serving new and existing markets from this facility.”

UP

UP’s RMCC and Police Department achieved the prestigious CALEA accreditation for the tenth consecutive year, the Class I announced via a LinkedIn post. Known as the “Gold Standard of Public Safety Agencies,” this recognition highlights excellence in international policing and dispatching.

“I can’t express enough my pride in our teams,” said UP Vice President and Chief Safety Officer Rod Doerr. “Only a limited number of organizations achieve and keep the accreditation.”

To earn and maintain the honor, UP says it completes rigorous multi-year self-assessments on policies, practices and processes, as well as coordinates assessment by independent evaluators with public safety expertise.

CALEA conducts structured interviews with company personnel and the clients it serves to assess effectiveness and overall service delivery capacities. Commissioners award accreditation following a formal review at a public hearing.

“Thank you to our employees for your exceptional service,” said RMCC Senior Director Mark Rowley. “This accreditation reflects countless hours of hard work and meticulous attention to detail.”
