Diana Sorfleet, CSX Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, was honored as one of the Women of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council during the annual Winter Soirée on Jan. 30 at the Adam W. Herbert University Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

The event recognizes women who “demonstrate exceptional leadership, professional achievements, and dedication to community service.” Sorfleet was celebrated alongside Whitney Meyer of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Dr. Olayemi Sokumbi of the Mayo Clinic.

“We highlight the incredible impact of women in leadership across Jacksonville,” said Wendy Dordel, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. “This recognition is a tribute to the trailblazers who are shaping the future for the women leaders of tomorrow.”

Sorfleet has played a pivotal role at CSX, championing innovation and inclusion throughout the organization, according to the Class I. “Her leadership aligns with the core mission of the Girl Scouts, which seeks to instill courage, confidence, and character in young women,” CSX said.

The Women of Distinction event also highlighted mentees who shared personal stories about the impact of their mentors. One participant credited her mentor’s guidance for teaching her the importance of building connections and carrying herself with confidence.

CSX served as an Integrity Sponsor for the event, “reaffirming its commitment to fostering leadership and growth across the communities it serves,” the Class I noted.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized as a Woman of Distinction,” Sorfleet said. “This acknowledgment reflects the incredible support, collaboration, and dedication of our entire ONE CSX team. It’s a celebration of our shared efforts. Let’s continue mentoring others, inspiring positive change, and making a meaningful impact in our communities.”

“We are proud to team up with MacKids as our 2025 CPKC Women’s Open primary charitable partner to raise money that will transform pediatric cardiac care across Ontario,” said CPKC President and CEO Keith Creel. “Pediatric cardiac care is a key focus of our community investment program, CPKC Has Heart, and we look forward to investing in and helping MacKids’ young hearts.”

This year’s goal is to raise more than $2.8 million for McMaster Children’s Hospital. These funds will support the creation of the Integrated Cardiac Health Initiative, a groundbreaking center of excellence that will enhance pediatric cardiac care from newborn to adolescent.

“With the incredible generosity of the CPKC Women’s Open, MacKids is poised to support McMaster Children’s Hospital as it takes pediatric cardiac care to extraordinary new heights,” says Anissa Hilborn, CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. “This partnership enables us to continue delivering lifesaving, world-class care to our region’s youngest patients and their families, ensuring brighter futures for our community and far beyond.”

“CPKC Has Heart has left a meaningful impact in every host community of our National Women’s Open Championship, and we are honoured to work with our partners in welcoming MacKids as the charitable beneficiary of the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open,” said Laurence Applebaum, Chief Executive Officer, Golf Canada. “The return of the CPKC Women’s Open to the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area at the historic Mississaugua Golf and Country Club this August will be special with golf fans and event enthusiasts seeing the world’s best players and helping to support the incredible work of McMaster Children’s Hospital.”

The CPKC Women’s Open community charity partner will be announced in the coming weeks.
