CPKC reported “[c]elebrating one year of innovation!” in an April 4 LinkedIn post. According to the Canadian Class I, its biofuels pilot “has reduced more than 4,072 metric tons of locomotive GHG emissions,” which aligns with its “science-based emission reduction targets.” CPKC said it has 10 AC4400 locomotives near Golden, B.C., which are “powered partly by plants, marking a significant step toward sustainability.”

Derek Lachaine is the new President and CEO of TransX, the Winnipeg, Manitoba-based intermodal services provider that CN acquired in 2018. Lachaine is a 20-plus-year TransX veteran, according to CN, which reported the appointment in an April 4 LinkedIn post. From managing line haul to serving as Chief Operating Officer, CN said he is “uniquely” positioned to be “a driving force in our next chapter of growth!”
