BNSF

BNSF recently announced via LinkedIn that it has been named Rail Carrier of the Year by Tyson Foods.

“Our long relationship with Tyson has been beneficial to the growth and success of both companies. Thank you to Tyson for trusting us to move your freight. We look forward to continuing to serve you safely and efficiently,” BNSF wrote in the post.

NS recently announced that it has partnered with SOLARCYCLE to provide direct rail service for the company’s new solar panel recycling facility in Cedartown, Ga.

The 255,000-square-foot facility is set to recycle up to two million solar panels annually, nearly five gigawatts (GWs) in total, advancing a circular economy for renewable energy materials, according to NS.

“We’re looking forward to supporting SOLARCYCLE’s innovative efforts and to contributing to a greener future together,” the Class I said.

According to SOLARCYCLE, the new facility will be the largest in the U.S., capable of processing 10 million panels per year at full capacity—enough to handle 25-30% of the U.S. solar panels reaching end of life in 2030.

The new facility will sit directly across from the land the company has purchased from the Cedartown Development Authority where it will soon begin construction on the first-of-its-kind solar glass factory at SOLARCCYLE’s Cedartown Georgia campus, creating more than 1,250 family-sustaining jobs and investing more than $400 million, the company noted. “This circular economy campus represents and advances our commitment to onshoring the clean energy supply chain,” SOLARCYCLE said.

More information on the new solar recycling facility, which will be a direct rail-served facility for NS, is available here.
